Itasca, IL – December 7, 2016 – Special consideration has to be made when installing MIMO antennas in environments where the units are susceptible to failure from high vibration. Fixed installations in mining operations or mobile antennas mounted on garbage trucks are a few popular examples where the MIMO antenna must be designed to meet specifications for high vibration.

The SMD-W-HV from Mobile Mark is a newly released 3-cable variant of the SMD-W surface mount WiFi antenna designed specifically for “high vibration” settings. Each cable covers the entire 2.4-2.5 and 4.9-6.0 GHz range of frequencies at 5 dBi gain. The antenna is vertically polarized and has a 50 Ohm nominal impedance with a maximum power of 20 Watts. All three cables come standard with 15 feet of cable and terminate with Reverse Pol SMA Plug connectors; however as with most Mobile Mark products custom cable lengths and connectors can be ordered.

Like all SMD MIMO Antennas that use this package, the SMD-W-HV is housed within a durable ASA radome measuring 1.5 inches (38mm) tall by 3.5 inches (89mm) wide. The radome is foam filled, allowing the antenna to be regularly exposed to increased vibration. This antenna also meets the IPX7 rating for water ingress, ensuring that water will not seep into the electrical components. The SMD-W-HV can be mounted onto metal surfaces up to ¼” in thickness. The antenna is installed by drilling a hole and mounting the 5/8” lg threaded stud with cable feed-thru.
